Saturday morning, October 24, will be a day for Feliz Filadelfia to celebrate our new facilities…..the new lights, the new scoreboards, the new storage facility, the new van and to give thanks to our elected officials who have made this all possible.
Congressman Brendan Boyle secured $500,000 in federal funds to pay for the lights, State Rep Anthony Bellmon obtained $100,000 for the new van and ballfield improvements, City Councilman Anthony Phillips has directed city funds annually for club operations. And Mayor Cherelle Parker was there at the beginning in 2019 when she oversaw the transformation of the abandoned Hammond Fields and dilapidated club house into the youth sports complex it is today. Thank you everyone.
The celebration begins at 10:30 this Saturday. Come on out!! Food will be served!
And by the way, we are not finished yet. Now that our equipment can be transferred from the clubhouse to the storage shed, Feliz Filadelfia is planning on transforming the clubhouse into a place where our kids can congregate to relax and to study. The schedule is to have this transformation to be completed by end of November.
