Feliz Filadelfia held a party on October 24 to show off its new facilities and to thank local elected officials for all the assistance they provided to make these improvements a reality.

New lighting for both playing fields was installed in the last two months with a $500,000 federal grant which was produced by Congressman Brendan Boyle.  The new lighting system has already made a big impact allowing Feliz teams to practice well into the evening hours. Other neighborhood teams have benefited as well as the fields have been opened to clubs in Olney and the lower Northeast who do not have lighted fields.

Other improvements include two new scoreboards and the addition of a storage shed for maintenance equipment to be stored. Feliz Filadelfia also showed off its new transport van obtained through a state grant of $100,000 provided through our state representative Anthony Bellmon.

Congressman Boyle and state rep Anthony Bellmon were honored as well as city councilman Anthony Phillips who has supported Feliz Filadelfia with annual city grants.  Congressman Boyle, Rep Bellmon, and councilman Anthony Phillips joined Feliz Filadelfia director Jose Rivera in speaking at the event.

Feliz Filadelfia is not finished. In upcoming months, the club plans to refurbish its club house. Feliz baseball and soccer teams all performed at the celebration.  A good time was had by all.
