Monday, June 30 marked an exciting milestone for Feliz Filadelfia! The first light poles were delivered to Hammond Fields, signaling the beginning of our long-awaited field lighting project. After years of planning, it’s exciting to see this investment finally moving forward.
We will be upgrading the existing lighting system on one field and installing brand new lights on our second field. These improvements will allow for more evening practices, games, clinics, and community events while creating a safer and more welcoming environment for the youth and families who use Hammond Fields throughout the year. The new lighting will also help extend programming during the fall months when daylight becomes limited.
This project is being made possible through a $500,000 federal grant secured by Congressman Brendan Boyle. “We are incredibly grateful for his continued support,” said Feliz Filadelfia founder Jose Rivera. “We also want to thank everyone who has worked behind the scenes to help move this project forward. These lights will have a lasting impact on Hammond Fields and the families who call it home.”
