Lights! Action! That’s what we can expect at the Feliz Filadelfia fields this spring!

Congressman Boyle with Philadelphia Mayor Parker
Through the efforts of Congressman Brendan Boyle, Feliz Filadelfia was awarded a $500,000 grant from the federal government three years ago. The money will be used to improve lighting at the larger baseball field, install lighting at the smaller field, purchase a shed for storage of landscaping equipment, and erect a scoreboard.
Planning these improvements and getting all the necessary city and federal approvals has been a length process, but all this work has been completed. The new lighting equipment is scheduled to be delivered in mid-May, and the construction work will commence right afterwards and is expected to be completed in 6-8 weeks.
Soccer and baseball programs will be affected by the construction and some of these activities will be moved temporarily this summer to nearby Ziehler playground.
The new lights will allow the Feliz baseball, soccer and recreational programs to extend further into the night which will have a noticeable impact in the fall! The new storage shed, will allow landscaping and baseball equipment to be moved from the Feliz clubhouse allowing space to be opened for community activities.
