Melanie Wright is the Executive Director at Feliz Filadelfia. In this role Melanie is responsible for driving the development, growth, and the capacity building strategy of the organization and its impact on providing Philadelphia’s children with equitable access to sports-based youth development programs. Melanie has more than 15 years of executive level experience in nonprofit and for-profit management, fundraising, marketing and consulting. She has a proven track record of helping organizations establish relevance and drive business growth through high-profile partnerships with Microsoft, Google, Disney, Comcast, CIGNA, Gatorade, the City of Philadelphia and the Latin GRAMMY® Awards.
Melanie’s sports management and marketing expertise includes partnerships with the NFL, MLB the WNBA and collaborations with elite athletes from The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committees at their training facility in Chula Vista, CA. She has also coordinated FIRST Robotics Boot Camps and competitions with young people in the U.S., and from Asia and Latin America. She has worked closely with celebrity personalities, Mia Hamm and Mayim Bialik to launch a national CSR campaign to promote STEM careers to high school students.
Melanie also serves as a Project Leader and Business Strategy Consultant at Compass Consulting, and Ainsworth Communications, providing clients in the healthcare, environmental services and the performing arts industries with capacity building solutions.
During her earlier career Melanie served as the Director of Communications for the Sustainable Business Network, where she created DE&I strategic plans and worked with the City of Philadelphia’s office of Sustainability, the Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities in the City of Philadelphia, and the Independence Business Alliance. She also headed national public relations at two of the largest private sector higher education institutions in North America. And led merger and acquisition projects at JP Morgan Chase, and Tenet Healthcare.
Melanie has a B.A. in Political Science from Long Island University, CW Post. She is a founding board member of Conscious Capitalism in Philadelphia and works on the Steering Committee of Girls on the Run Philadelphia. She is a proud member of the Philadelphia Blazers Ski Club and the Wissahickon Wanderers Running Club.
