Feliz Filadelfia A Team played against the B team for a chance to advance to the semi-final round of the 9-10 year old playoffs. Feliz Filadelfia A Team was highly favorite to win the game, but Team B had something to prove. Everyone was ready for these 2 teams to battle it out at the Hammond fields.
The A team jumped off to an early 5-0 lead with big hits from Charlie Fontanez , Luis Rivera and Michael Rivera.
When you looked over to the B teams bench there were nothing but smiles as if they knew something good was going to happen.
Team B bounced back and scored 5 runs in the 4th inning and the field was rocking ! Fans from both teams were really into it now and you can feel the pressure on the team A side.
On to the bottom half of the 5th inning , team A scored 2 more runs and were now up 7-5 but as we all know by now no lead was safe.
Coach Jose Delgado gathered his team up in the top of the 6th inning and said “Pick your Heads up … It ain’t Over “.
Feliz Filadelfia Angels A Team were just 3 outs away from advancing but once again the B team just wouldn’t go away answering back with 2 runs in their top half of the last inning tying the game at 7 all.
You can just feel the buzz in the air that this was going to be an epic finish !
Bottom of the 6th inning which was the last inning , team A had the top of the lineup up and knew that they had a chance to win in walkoff fashion.
Team B walked the first 3 batters in the inning and now had to deal with Luis Rivera (Lefty ) with nobody out.
Luis Rivera saw a pitch he can hit and sent a shot deep into left center for a game winning Grandslam !
This game will forever go down as one of the best games at the Hammond fields !
